    I had the LIFT procedure. The procedure takes 20 to 40 minutes. No catheter, and no time recovery. Once you live the doctors office. Your way if life is normal, as when you were 30.. I had this proceduredone over a year ago. My two friends had had the same procedure 4 years ago and no problems. But I know that sometimes you may need other procedures, turp, laser which takes about one hour. Remember, every doctor know only one procedure, and they don't tell you that are better procedure around. I know that once you get turp or laser done, and the time recovery has passed. You are good for life

    I'm 41 and in the 5th week post-op and it's painful when I stand or walk and also when I sit down. When I lay down I have no pain and it's no infection. I have problems to go to work. Is this normal, do I have to wait to week 8? Will it get better soon? And at work I sometimes have stress-incontinence. I don't know what to do, my urogolist told me to wait 6 weeks and we will see. But in week 5 I still have pain in the prostate and it goes down to the penis. Can you give me some information please? What is this pain, is it normal?

On June 17 the doctor will do a balloon dilation of urethral stricture with Optilume drug-coated balloon to dilate the urethral stricture and make sure that it is open for the T.U.R.P. surgery. The doctor has to make sure the opening in the urethra is wide enough to get the T.U.R.P. tool inside. Then the T.U.R.P. surgery on June 28. I have had some form of catheter for 7 months.

    My GP Dr. referred me to a Urologist over a decade ago. I was around 52. The urologist saw me annually since that time. I am now 64. He did reccomend TURP quite a few years ago and we did talk about permenant damage if I didn't do anything about it. First was drugs and then we opted for UROLIFT 3 years ago. He did say he'd rather perform the golden standard TURP, but we used the UL instead. It failed. 7 days ago he performed the TURP. The suffering is minor. I call it uncomfortable inconvenience. I am so glad that my GP reccomended him in the first place. I'm looking forward to getting through the rehab period and getting my life back.

    I had TURP a week ago today. So far it has been 'perfect', flushing with solution after op, catheter removed the morning after the op, home that afternoon and bladder control good, some urgency, much better flow, and emptying, yippee. Only issue is bleeding, a small amount of blood at the start of every time I pee, accompanied by a small amount of stinging, this is apparently normal, for a few weeks. The discomfort soon passes......a minute or so.

    The knowing where all the bathrooms are is both hilarious and so true. I will even choose a destination based on the location of the toilets. I have had my problem for 10 years, since I was 53. I have had two bladder stones, the first ten years ago. Which was removed, part of the process I had awful bladder spasms (catheter). Even after this I still had issues regards urgency, UTIs and nocturia (4-5 times a night). I lived with it for n years, until the last bladder stone, thought I had another about two years ago. Went to docs, after months of waiting was scanned (NHS), another few months and then saw consultant (NHS). Consultant rec. TURP and Lithoscopic removal of Stone. Again waited three months, by that point I went Private (UK, £6k), got the stone removed, relief......(and no catheter issues, more relief). Waited another 6 months (NHS) to get the TURP done (which will resolve the cause, finger crossed). It was done last Thursday (one week ago). For the first time I can pee without squeezing n times, and still not emptying. It's like a fire hose now...... ;-) Just have to retrain bladder, and get over the TURP OP itself (still some bleeding and urgency), but it already feels like it is going to be life changing. You guys do great work, urologists are now my favourite physicians.

    I have had catheters four times, on the second time I had bladder spasms, that were pretty much left untreated for an overnight period. 12 hours of absolute agony. For the other three times, no issues. Now I know about the drugs they can use to help with the spasms.

    Thank you for this. I had my TURP done 7 weeks ago and wish I had seen this before. My recovery is still in progress. Unfortunately I didn’t have the kind of pre-procedure consultation this video provides. I was not prepared. All I got was “oh it’s great”, “nothing to worry about” , “quick procedure” etc. 4 to 6 weeks recovery they said. Well I’m here to tell you it’s been 7 weeks and it’s slow going. Flow is good immediately, but, for now, urgency is worse, frequency is no better (worse at night), spasms are uncomfortable after peeing, and dribbling after also bothersome. I’m trying to be patient and have a follow up mid July so we’ll see how it is by then. Your video gives me hope. One thing I will say is the discussion around retrograde ejaculation is downplayed too much. Sure I’m 64 and the only babies I want are grandkids (had a vasectomy 30 years ago anyway). It’s dismissed as no big deal. I say that’s subjective. Unless you’ve experienced it you don’t know. It’s different and I don’t like it. Again, I’ll be patient and I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but I wasn’t prepared for it. So great video. Guys, if you’re getting it done, just be prepared. In the long run I’m sure it will be worth it, but be prepared and patient.

      I'm in 5th week post op, no bleeding but burning when I pee like the hell. And it's also very uncomfortable and painful when I'm standing or trying to sit down. I feel the pain in the prostate and it goes down the penis. Only when I lay down I don't have any pain. They tested me I have no infection. Can you give me some information please, did you have the same. They told me after 4 to 6 weeks I'll be fine. I don't think, it will take more time. And the retrograde Ejakulation is also normal, 100%. But I can deal with it. I really worry about the pain when I stay or walk at work.

      @Trguy60 20 дней назад

      @@Loewenherz6183 sorry to hear you’re having pain issues. I had none. It was relatively pain free, just some discomfort during urination for a while. There’s still spamming and “aftershocks” at the end of urination causing dribbling so I have to be careful and make sure it’s over so to speak. The urgency is also still there which is also bothersome. I think the pain is unusual so keep an eye on it. Good luck.

    No Foley after the surgery? That's great! I was basically bullied, the day after my surgery, into wearing a foley for a week. The reason? I was able to pee, but it wasn't deemed good enough. I had been using intermittent catheters for six months prior to my surgery. I fully expected to not pee perfectly on the first day. What therapeutic value could be gained from wearing a Foley catheter for a week after TURP surgery?
